RIP 2016 📱😪
Sadly, we lost a lot of wonderful and talented people this year - Prince, David Bowie, Mohammad Ali, Carrier Fisher, George Michael. We are thankful for all they contributed to the world.
Much like the cycle of life, apps also have a lifecycle - so we wanted to pay our respect to some of the apps that we said good-bye to in 2016 and thank the teams that introduced them into the world:
• Mailbox and Sunrise, you will NEVER be forgotten
• Meerkat, your spirit lives on 🏠🎉
• Stolen and Famous, in your 15 minutes you lived a lifetime
• Facebook Paper and Notify, we wish we knew you better
• Tay, your sister Zo has a lot to live up to
• Washio the City needs you please come back
ThinkUp, Talkshow, Summize, Blab, Parse!! 2016 has not been kind. Apps can be replaced, MagSafe alternatives can be found, but we will never ever get over your loss; rest in peace 3.5mm Headphone Jack.

Super Mario Run was (finally) knocked off the #1 spot on the AppStore charts.That honors now goes to Fitbit, the winner of this year's holiday season gift unwrapping context.
Everyone's fav AI, Alexa, jumped to #4, while its competitor jumped to #30.
Meanwhile, VR made out of cardboard proved to be quite popular, taking #15 through #24 spots. Google Cardboard is clearly driving downloads.
Also, this simple meme bot is super fun. 😄
