Remember Secret? The controversial anonymous app made headlines in 2015 but despite its initial hockey stick growth, it eventually shut down returning the remains of its $35m in venture funding.

Yesterday, Secret cofounder and Product Hunt LIVE guest, David Byttow, casually announced Secret's coming back. "Watch this space," David says.

Of course, Secret isn't the only startup to shut down. Explore a memorial of companies that didn't make it in Product Haunt.

Some pretty incredible launches this past month 🙏
A lot has happened in October. Google showed the world it can build very good hardware, Nintendo launched a gaming console from the future, Slack launched a new app for Mac, and there were two new Slack competitors that came out: Slack by Microsoft and Workplace by Zuck.

Did we mention Google (and Microsoft) are now really good at hardware?

There's an impressive amount of +1,000 upvoted products in October, including the most upvoted of the month. See them all, and more in the Best of October collection on Product Hunt. 🐱
Products from Black Mirror 😳
Black Mirror, the popular TV series that shows dark side of life and technology, just started it's 3rd season on Netflix. In the first episode we enter a world where nearly every online and in-person interaction is rated on a five-star scale (like Uber), very similar to the controversial Peeple app (minus the augmented reality part).

Black Mirror makes you really think about what technology is doing to our lives and where society is heading, but this techno future isn’t far away. There’s already an app that pays you to go to the gym, soon we’ll be recording everything we see with these, and this tool can turn your deceased loved ones into a bot… sort of.

Explore the full collection of Black Mirror tech on Product Hunt (no spoilers) and check out the series if you haven't already.
New from LinkedIn. See how much 💰 you should be making.
We can't all afford a $1,000/month membership to the Rich Kids app, but LinkedIn's new tool might help negotiate a raise.

Twitch co-founder launches a video Q&A app: 🐳
Yesterday Justin Kan, the co-founder of Justin.tv and Twitch, launched a new video Q&A app. A lot of great insights have already been shared on Whale. Here are some of our favorites:

• Josh Constine's tips on how to best pitch your startup
• Loic Le Meur on how to build a network in Silicon Valley
• Tiffany Zhong on what edge young people have at tech investing
• Arianna Simpson on the most understated qualities of entrepreneurs
• Michael Seibel on what changes we can expect to see in Y Combinator

And yes, as Justin Kan explains, it's no coincidence that 🐳 is named after an emoji (sadly, 🐐 was taken). But there's good news! A ton of new potential startup names were just announced. The new emojis are 🔥.
