GIFs are the new elevator pitch 💰🤗
GIFs: moving images, a simple concept that's now the universal language of the internet. Research (likely) shows a direct correlation between the rise of GIFs and people's decreasing attention span online.

The question is... Can you describe your product in a GIF? Easier said than done, but here are some of the best examples we've seen:

• Oristand's portable and super affordable standing desk
• Blockhead's clever solution to your MacBook charger not fitting
Register to Vote's ID scanning solution is brilliant
• Papier's beautiful note-taking app in your browser
• Highly's Medium-style highlighting in every app and website
• Zoom, Enhance! which turns your regular photos into zoomable GIFs
Google's new experimental app 👀
Google just released an experimental, VR-ish camera app. Sprayscape uses the phone’s gyroscope to capture faces, places, and spaces in a unique way.

The search engine's been busy attempting to fill your homescreen with new apps like Allo, Duo, Trips, and a magical new version of Google Photos, all released in the past month. ✨
The geekiest email you'll receive today 🤓 📊
The spreadsheet was one of the first killer apps back in the day. Then Microsoft turned it into a form of entertainment with a program called “Excel” (it went viral in offices everywhere). Today, there are a lot of additions and alternatives to Microsoft's viral sensation:

Airtable is a gorgeous application that does just about anything
Fieldbook lets you create a database as easily as a spreadsheet
Awesome Table displays your Google Sheets data beautifully
Automated Spreadsheets is purrrfect for anyone aggregating ad data
Quip Spreadsheets for teams is pretty great

New from Facebook 💼
Facebook's strategy is clear: own every aspect of your life. Last week the social network launched a Craigslist competitor and a new standalone Events app, while Zuckerberg gave us a preview of your future life in VR (watch this demo from Oculus Connect).

Now Facebook wants to own your work life with the release of Workplace, the long awaited “Slack competitor”. None of this would have been possible if Justin Timberlake hadn't suggested dropping the The. 😎
Get 💩 done with these apps
Happy Monday! The week is just beginning. Start by exploring this Productivity Hacks list and by the end of this email you will become a productivity machine. 💪

💻 Toby organizes all your browser tabs into searchable visual lists

Salesforce buying Twitter? 🤔
Rumors are swirling about Twitter's future as its said to be preparing for a sale. It's reported that Disney and Google are no longer in the running, which leaves Salesforce a potential (unexpected) acquirer.

Meanwhile, an open-source Twitter alternative is making a headlines. Mastodon will feel familiar to fellow Tweetdeck fans. Reserve your first name handle just in case this takes off. 😉
Google's new phone will make you switch to Android 😮
Yesterday, Google announced a suite of new products to compete with Amazon, Oculus, Apple, and even our wifi-loving friends at eero. To recap, here’s what Google announced:

📱Google Pixel: iPhone competitor with 3mm headphone jack technology
🙇Daydream View: A virtual reality headset made out of fabric (clever)
🌐Google WiFi: A new kind of WiFi system (because wifi > everything)
🏠Google Home: A competitor to Alexa (P.S. soon you'll be able to talk to Product Hunt via Google Home) 😺

Now all you need to know is the best 150 Google Now commands to make all that new hardware extra intelligent.
Twitter bots! (RIP, Microsoft’s Tay) 🐥🤖

🏕 OOOTwitter sends an out-of-office reply to your @mentions
⚡️PowerPack is an entire auto-reply toolkit you can personalize
🤔 #AskJelly is all you need to tweet to get your questions answered
🤖 Botmoji from Emojipedia will help you become an emoji master
