Our ultra-fast Daily: Three takes on new products. Yesterday’s top ten launches. That’s it.
Remember the whole Elon vs Zuck fight? Well, it’s apparently still going ahead, and Musk thinks there could be a chance it could take place in the Colosseum. As in, the gladiator arena from Ancient Rome. Yeah, we’re not so sure.
Welcome to Thursday. Remember Google’s cheeky ad from yesterday? Well, looks like Pixel’s marketing team poked too soon: People are reporting broken screens on their new foldable devices, less than 24 hours after its release. Ouchies. Anywho, have you seen this video of Domino’s using a jetpack to deliver pizza to Glastonbury festival? Pretty rad.
In today’s Digest:
Good morning makers, hunters, and everybody in between. Google’s latest Pixel ad throws some major shade at the iPhone, the ChatGPT+ for iOS app can now browse Bing, and Midjourney just dropped a massive update we can use to make the Pope look even more swagged out, if we so choose.
In today’s Digest:
The unicorn social app IRL is shutting down after an internal investigation by their board of directors found that 95% of its 20 million users are fake. In 2021, IRL reached a $1.2 billion valuation after raising $170 million in series C funding led by SoftBank, the same investment group that bought a $300M stake in WeWork in 2017.
Remember SVB? The startup bank that infamously collapsed earlier this year sending a wave of anxiety and stress to startup founders around the world. Well, someone is making a musical comedy about it. Would you buy tickets?
Remember Napster? The music-sharing app from the early 00s that’s now a streaming service. Well, a different kind of Napster just launched, and it takes the name quite literally.
Yes, you read that right. Elon Musk has challenged Mark Zuckerberg to the fight of the decade, and Zuck accepted. Who are you placing your bets on?
BlackCat, a ransomware group, is claiming responsibility for a February phishing attack on Reddit and demanding $4.5 million in ransom, as well API pricing changes. Oh, and yesterday the site was covered in pictures of TV show host John Oliver, also in an act of protest against new API prices. All together, now: What a time to be alive!
