The Most Dangerous Writing Apps ⚠️
The more you write the better you get, the quicker you're able to turn coffee into text. Medium and Google Docs provide a very welcoming experience, and yet, one of the hardest parts of writing is getting started and staying focused on the task at hand.
That is why The Most Dangerous Writing App was invented. The moment you stop typing the screen starts turning red, and soon after all progress is lost. There is no option to save.
Another technological cure to writer's block is Flowstate, which is available on the Mac App Store and iOS. Flowstate deletes everything if you stop typing, making it equally dangerous.
Other apps that help you simplify your message include Easy Write and Cleartext, both of which only allow you to use the 1,000 most common words (plus cofveve).

It's never too early to learn how to code. These days, elementary school kids are earning street cred building and launching apps. This (long) weekend, sit down with your kid, little cousin, or younger sibling and let them know that being a rocket surgeon is just a distraction on their way to a promising career as an engineer.
Get started with Littlecodr, an insanely fun card game that teaches kids the basics of code, Code Cards, a card game that lets anyone learn how to code (which you can now print for FREE), and Code Kingdoms, inspiring kids to learn coding by gaming.

BREAKING: New app from HBO's Silicon Valley 🌭
Last night Silicon Valley's Jian-Yang launched his new app, Not Hotdog, a disruptive app that uses AI and neural networks to identify hotdogs. Despite this impressive feat of technical brilliance, Jian-Yang wants nothing to do with it. Here's his comment on Product Hunt:
"It is very good and I don't want to work on it any more. You can hire someone else."

John Oliver crashed the FCC website 😅 📈
Once again, John Oliver and the team at Last Week Tonight crashed the FCC website. Here's how they did it:
When net neutrality rules were under threat three years ago, Last Week Tonight (then, relatively unknown) directed people to a simple FCC website and urged them to leave a comment in support of Title II and strong net neutrality protections (which help startups like you and me stay competitive by requiring ISPs to treat all internet traffic equally).
People's voices were heard and the plan succeeded. Until now, when net neutrality is under threat again. Enter: gofccyourself.com.
Today, the once simple process of going to the FCC's website turned into a 16 second explainer GIF (feature or bug, see here). So Last Week Tonight bought the URL gofccyourself.com – which redirects to the part of the FCC's website for showing your support for net neutrality.
The only problem: The FCC's website crashed (again) from all the traffic.

It all started the morning of Dec 17th, 2016. Elon Musk was in a Tesla, LA traffic was doing its thing. He pulls out his phone while signaling to the AI (using his thoughts) to take over the wheel, and starts tweeting:
5:05 AM: Traffic is driving me nuts. Am going to build a tunnel boring machine and just start digging...
6:15 AM: It shall be called "The Boring Company"
6:16 AM: Boring, it's what we do

On Friday afternoon the world learned that Elon was actually serious, as he revealed this video. It shows an underground network of tunnels where cars travel at 130 mph under major cities.
It's only a matter of time before Netflix has to rename the Science-Fiction category into Near-Term Technology.
P.S. This isn’t the only new company Elon announced this year. He wants to turn people into cyborgs.
