Align - Posture awareness for your Mac

by
Align rethinks posture by making it passive. Instead of reminders or routines, it lives in your Mac’s notch and quietly notices when you start to slouch. A subtle visual cue brings your attention back without interrupting your flow. Everything runs locally on your device. No data leaves your Mac. Over time, you start correcting posture naturally.

I built a small tool that lives in the notch of your Mac. It started because I kept catching myself slouching, but always too late. I would be working for hours, then suddenly notice my neck hurting or my posture completely off. So I started wondering if my Mac could quietly let me know when it was happening. I spent a few weeks experimenting with the MacBook camera to see if it could actually detect changes in posture. It turns out it can. Now the app runs in the background, tracking things like your head position and shoulder alignment, and gives you a gentle nudge when you start to slip. Nothing loud or distracting. Just enough to bring your attention back. Everything stays on your Mac. No data leaves your device. It was important to me that it feels private and simple. If you have ever looked up from your screen and realized you have been hunched over for who knows how long, this is for that moment. I wanted something that is present without being annoying. Something you do not have to think about. And after using it for a while, I have noticed I’m way more aware of my posture.
