Your first BeginRooms task: finish a client brief
I’m Sourav, a developer working on BeginRooms. If you’re trying it for the first time, start with one deliverable: a brief you can use to scope a project. Use a fictional or non-sensitive example on a desktop or laptop.
1. In the workspace, choose Workspace → Create a cube for your project.
2. Select the cube, choose a face and click Open face. Note the room, cube and face names so you know where this brief belongs.
3. Open Docs → Blank document. Write four short sections: Outcome, Scope, Inputs needed, Next decision.
4. Return to the room and check Save & sync before closing. A local save is different from a completed cloud sync. Keep an exported copy of important work.
Here’s a sample you can adapt:
Outcome: Help potential clients understand the studio’s work and make an enquiry.
Scope: A home page, three case studies and an enquiry page; two review rounds.
Inputs needed: Selected project images and one contact for feedback.
Next decision: Agree the page list before estimating the work.
For a file you can pass on, Docs → Export Word exports the selected document frame, or the active face, as DOCX. Check the exported file before sending it.
To find your brief again, open the same room and choose Workspace → Find existing work. Search for your cube’s name, then select the matching face result. Search covers the current room; if the expected result is missing, check the room title first. You can also select the cube in the room, choose the face and click Open face.
Once you have the brief open, add the next agreed step. The useful trial task is to create a brief and return to continue it.
BeginRooms has an 11-day no-card trial, followed by a paid subscription for continued access: https://beginthings.com/workspace-3d.html
