Two of us spent weeks building an AI app builder with no credits to sell. Smart or stupid?

Hey PH We're Baptiste & Samuel, and next week we're launching Capacity Desktop a free Mac app that turns plain English into real apps, built and stored on your machine.

The bet everyone tells us is wrong: move away from credits system. You plug in your own Claude / GPT / Open Router key and pay your provider at cost. Our take is that you feel the credits system is unfair, you never know what a failed fix loop just cost you, and you feel the tool profits from your retries.

Why vibe coding fails (and how to make it actually work)

Most people love vibe coding until the app grows.

At some point, prompts stop being enough and everything starts to break:
features clash, logic leaks everywhere, and just ship it turns into rewrites.

Every AI builder eventually hits the same wall:

the AI builds fast, but it doesn t understand the product.

Spec Coding by Capacity - Vibe Coding with a planning assistant to build with clarity

Most AI app builders jump straight into building. That feels fast until your app gets messy, inconsistent, and nothing like what you imagined. Today, we’re introducing Spec Coding in Capacity. Instead of building immediately, Capacity now lets you define your app first with the help of an AI co-founder that asks the right questions before any code is generated. More structure upfront. Far less refactoring later. Much better results.
