ChoreFit — Fitness from Housework - Validated fitness tracking for daily life

by
ChoreFit turns everyday housework into real, trackable workouts on Apple Watch. Instead of generic “Other” tracking, it uses validated MET values from the Compendium of Physical Activities to calculate calories for chores like vacuuming, mopping, and laundry. It enhances calorie estimates by accounting for weighted equipment like vests or wrist weights, syncs with Apple Health, and breaks movement down by chore, making invisible labor measurable, accurate, and motivating.

I built ChoreFit after realizing how much physical work disappears from traditional fitness tracking. I was moving all day cleaning, carrying, walking, lifting but my Apple Watch treated it as Other or ignored it entirely. Over time that disconnect created guilt and the feeling that my effort did not count unless it looked like a workout. I wanted to solve that gap by measuring everyday movement accurately. ChoreFit uses validated MET science, accounts for weighted equipment, and breaks movement down by chore so daily labor becomes visible and measurable. As I worked toward launch, my approach evolved through real Apple Watch user feedback. Bugs, edge cases, and early confusion pushed me to simplify onboarding, clarify the science, and focus on one clear promise. The movement you already do counts.

@chorefit that sounds interesting, I used to work for years in the food service business, and there was a lot of different movements that were made without making steps. I could see how this might be an interesting thing to track, good job. Let me know when the launch is live. I’ll come back for another look.

@dubd59 thank you!!! I used the “other” setting on Apple Watch for a while trying to track my housework. ChoreFit is accurate. I’m so excited for this launch
