I built CtrlV because sharing code felt slower than it should be. Most tools required an account, too many clicks, or pages filled with noise. I just wanted to paste a snippet and share a clean link instantly.
So I built the CtrlV web app first, focusing on speed and simplicity. As more developers tried it, the biggest request was: “Can I share straight from VS Code?” That led to the VS Code extension, which now lets you publish a snippet without even leaving your editor.
Along the way I added encryption, link expiration, and the Public Feed. The Public Feed lets you publish a snippet with a password so that if you can’t easily share the link, the receiver can still find it directly on the website and unlock it. The goal stayed the same: remove friction from sharing code and make it effortless for developers to pass ideas around.
