Hi Product Hunt! We are excited to share Ethically, a browser extension for the conscious consumer. We provide real-time sustainability scores while you are shopping online so you can find and shop with companies that are more aligned with your values. When we were building Ethically, we wanted to make something that would demystify the sustainability world. When talking to potential users, most people really wanted to hold businesses accountable but just didn’t know where to start. What makes Ethically special is that we bring sustainability to you. We know you want to be more sustainable, so we help you do it incrementally because we know every action counts. Using Ethically you can find more sustainable options within the places you are already shopping, like Amazon. TL;DR Why are we building Ethically? Well, not to get too dark, but the world is a bit on fire and we felt pretty helpless over the last few years. We took a look at who/what needs to happen and holding corporations accountable is key. While each one of us is a drop in the bucket, we believe that voting with your dollar can work if we do it together. Let’s take our $860 billion of e-commerce business elsewhere. @weiss_arnaud Thank you Arnaud! We actually work with data partners that help us compile over 735 sources of (third-party verifiable) data but this is just the beginning. We continue to enhance our data set with additional sources.

This is great and very hard to do. Years ago GoodGuide blazed a trail but consumer awareness (and data availability) weren't quite as ripe as they are today so I wish for Ethically to thrive and go mainstream
