Extract My Chat - ChatGPT made useful: extract individual conversations

The Problem 🎯

As a linguist, researcher, and software developer 🤓, I use ChatGPT frequently — for data analysis, academic exploration, and to build custom GPTs. But when it came time to revisit specific chats, I ran into the same problem over and over: exporting your ChatGPT history gives you everything in one giant file 🚩

All I wanted was to extract one conversation — quickly, cleanly, and accurately.

The Solution 🚀

So I built Extract My Chat — a small tool that lets you:

• Upload your exported conversations.json from ChatGTP ✔️

• Pick a conversation by title ✔️

• Download it as plain text or structured JSON ✔️

Why It Matters (to me and maybe to you too) 💪

I needed to do this often. Whether for quoting previous prompts, analyzing how I worked through a problem, or integrating GPT outputs into different tasks — this was becoming a daily bottleneck.

What used to take time and manual cleanup, now takes just a few clicks.

Built With... ⚒️

I built it with @Python.org and @Streamline, and @Make — no backend required. It’s lightweight, bilingual (English/Spanish), and privacy-first: no chats are stored anywhere.
