The new global map is great, it can take a while to load because of the resolution of the imagery, but the fidelity is amazing!
Pros:
Incredibly detailed maps
Cons:
Needs more content!

I used Fatmap when I did a ski season in the 3 Vallees in France. The 3d maps are a far easier way to explore the pistes than an old fashioned trail map. They even have some off-piste runs with a detailed summary so you know what you're getting into.
I have to say the name seems misleading. I actually thought it was going to be a map showing where obese people lived in the US! Check out MapMyFitness, an Austin startup who were acquired by Under Armour. Not sure what your plan is, but their path might help you.
@davidjlowe Ha, yes. Well there’s also a company called ‘Fat Map’ that maps the fat on your body. Perhaps there’s some irony there because FATMAP is all about getting people outdoors and helping them have some cool outdoor adventures. We make the information people need accessible and easier to understand. There may be some overlaps in our audiences but I believe we’re solving different problems! Thanks for the comment and feedback.
