What usually goes wrong that makes you re-record a demo?
by•
When you re-record a demo, it's rarely because the capture is broken. It's usually something small, maybe a line you didn't like, a weird pause, or the webcam overlay blocking part of your demo.
And at that point, you're either re-recording the whole thing or dragging the file into a separate editor just to fix one moment.
We're shipping something tomorrow that tries to fix that gap.
What usually makes you redo a recording for your product demos, onboarding materials or training videos? Curious about your poor recording experiences.

Often redo recordings because I realize halfway through that my explanation isn’t clear. I could fix it in post but it feels awkward. Starting fresh lets me be more natural and I can add little gestures or examples I didn’t think of the first time.
@itohan_blessing_eigbadon That makes sense, it’s not just about fixing mistakes, but also about how it feels when you watch it back. If the explanation doesn’t land the way you wanted, it’s hard to just patch that in post. I’ve definitely restarted for that reason more times than I’d like to admit.
You might find the AI Screen & Webcam Recorder that we are launching today useful, trying to make those moments easier to fix without starting over, like the teleprompter feature that helps a bit with getting the flow right from the start.
I usually re-record when my screen overlay or cursor blocks something important. It seems minor until I watch the playback. Fixing it in editing is tedious, so I’d rather just start over and make sure every step is visible and easy to follow.
Usually redo demos when I notice a flow problem, my steps feel jumbled or unclear. I could cut it together but it often ends up feeling chopped. Recording it from scratch lets me stay natural and confident in how I explain things.
