Introducing AI teammates – saving hours on your routine.
They use your apps like you do and keep working while you sleep.
Run them on a local model: fully private, no usage limits, and $0 a month. Or pick any cloud model you like.
I’m Vadim, the solo developer behind Fluent, a native AI assistant that lives in every Mac app.
Fluent 2 brings AI teammates to your Mac. They use your apps with their own pointer, remember what matters, and keep working while you sleep. Best part: they can run entirely on a local model, so they’re fully private, never hit a usage limit, and cost $0 a month.
Why I built it
Cloud agents like Codex and Claude Cowork are impressive, but they’re built around one company’s cloud: a monthly plan, usage limits, and your data on their servers. I wanted the opposite. The Mac on your desk can already run capable models locally (Apple even gave local agents their own WWDC26 session), and Fluent 2 brings that to everyone, no terminal needed.
What makes Fluent different
⚡ Native: a 73 MB Swift app that feels like part of macOS and works inside every app
🔀 Model-agnostic: local models, any cloud API, or your ChatGPT or Claude plan. Switch anytime.
🔒 Private: zero telemetry, no data collection, no account
🧠 Private memory: learns your preferences, voice, and files. It stays on your Mac and works with every model.
🦾 AI teammates with Computer Use: an email assistant, a morning briefer, a refund chaser, or one you design, fully local if you want
Who is Fluent for
Mac enthusiasts who want a comprehensive AI that works completely on your Mac. Fluent's Memory, dictation, and every single feature are designed to work locally. There's no account, no telemetry or data collection, just Fluent and an old-school license key. Cloud subscriptions and API keys are also supported.

The 73 MB native Swift part matters more than it sounds — most Mac AI apps feel like a web wrapper, so a small native app that shows up in every app with Option+Space is a different thing. The first teammate I would try is the morning briefer: using its own pointer to pull my apps together overnight and hand me a summary sounds genuinely useful, especially with memory that stays on my Mac and works across whichever model I pick that day, local or cloud.
Report
Fluent can do so much. It has become one of the indispensable tools I use. I have been able to condense quite a few apps into one and reduce subscription costs. I like that I can use multiple models within Fluent without leaving it, including running a local model for privacy as well. I have it set up to track the current costs of items that are on my watch list to buy. I feed it the list, and it then goes out and researches nightly. I am using Fluent more and more with research jobs and love that I can have it answer questions in-app no matter which app I am in. Fluent gives you the ultimate flexibility and choice in models and application.

I’d love your feedback on two things:
What’s the first job you’d hand to an AI teammate?
Which AI features are the most useful for you in Fluent 2?
I’ll be here all day answering every comment. Thanks for checking it out! 🙏
