🧑‍💻 Do you still use your own product every day?
When I started building, I used my own tool all the time. That was kind of the whole reason I made it. I had a problem, nothing out there fixed it the way I wanted, so I built something.
But lately I’ve noticed something.
Most of my time now goes into fixing bugs, answering emails, thinking about pricing, writing posts... and I barely use the product the way a normal user would anymore. I open it to test things, not to actually get stuff done with it.
And I’m not sure if that’s a problem or just what happens as things grow.
Part of me thinks if you stop being a real user, you slowly lose the feeling for what’s annoying or missing.
Another part thinks you can’t be the main user forever, and at some point you have to trust feedback from other people more than your own gut.
I really don’t have an answer here =D
So I’m curious:
Do you still use your own product daily, like an actual user?
And if you stopped, did you notice it changed how you build?

I think it’s normal, but I’d still block out a little time to use it like a customer. The moment it starts feeling like a test environment instead of a tool you stop noticing whats actually annoying.
Being a developer and having a developer product, I use my product everyday to carry out daily operations. I think "use your own product every day" really depends on the problem being a daily occurrence that your product solves. I have a MCP Gateway that is something that I really need for my daily Agentic operations. In your case I believe it might not be the case, so a genuine feedback from the customers would definitely out stand your own usage, because when a Founder/Developer uses their own product, they do not really try to consciously break it the way real users might do unconsciously!
