In the ever-evolving tapestry of technology, AI indeed holds the potential to render traditional keyword strategies less central. As AI becomes more sophisticated, it can understand context, sentiment, and intent with greater nuance, transcending the limitations of mere keywords. This evolution allows for a more intuitive and holistic approach to search and content optimization, where meaning and purpose take precedence over rigid keyword patterns. However, while AI expands these horizons, the essence of keywords—acting as a bridge between human inquiry and machine understanding—remains relevant. They form the initial touchstones of search behavior, guiding AI systems in training and refinement. Thus, while AI might redefine the landscape, the foundational elements of keyword strategy still anchor the broader ecosystem, ensuring that the human touch is neither lost nor forgotten.

With the growing need to rank on AI search engines, the strategies might need to be enhanced, so yeah building on exiting keyword strategies is the idea

AI has the potential to enhance traditional keyword strategies by providing deeper insights into user intent and behavior, making them more effective rather than obsolete. However, keywords will still play a crucial role in SEO, as they help structure content and improve discoverability in search engines.

I think it’s obvious it can and will, because almost everyone is creating content with AI. The real value of such content is close to zero. The question is how quickly search engines will learn to identify truly unique content, which is relatively rare.
