Do you think BARD will take over ChatGPT because it's part of the Google ecosystem and will be integrated and adopted quicker by the mass? Or does ChatGPT already have a considerable headstart?
I think distribution matters a lot for the product like this and despite the embarrassing launch, I think BARD should catch up pretty quickly - given just the pre-organised volume of data that Google already has. But there will likely remain also a large chunk of a different kind of search where the current text box, or some future version of the search text box is still the most useful way to get information. If you've tried bing+chatgpt, tbh the experience is also not the best yet to make me change my behaviour.
@adilhalim Interesting insights, a lot will matter on distribution and adoption indeed

I think it depends a lot on how it's rolled out. If Google rolls out Bard without an unpredictable waitlist like Microsoft then Microsoft will be in deep trouble because as it stands Google has a huge share in the market already
I wish ChatGPT to win because Google is too powerful. But Google can put it's AI in the hands of 90% of all searchers when fully launched and OpenAI will never get that reach. And certainly not by charging for it.
After some time, once people get knowledge ab the concept chatGPT and ab pricing of different alternatives, I think that BARD from Google will get a preferent place between main alternatives
Both BARD and ChatGPT are impressive language models with their unique strengths and capabilities. It's not a competition, but rather a healthy advancement in the field of AI. In the end, the success of a language model is determined by its ability to provide value to users and improve their experience. So, let's celebrate the progress and look forward to seeing how both models continue to evolve and contribute to the AI community.
Don't have a clear picture of BARD yet as I haven't tested it yet. But so far ChatGPT is a real game player in terms of AI aspects. Honestly, it's a massive assistant if you can utilize it properly using your brain. Isn't it?
Both are unpredictable...
BARD (Bidirectional Encoder Representations from Transformers) is a state-of-the-art natural language processing model developed by Google. It is designed to generate natural language text that is coherent and grammatically correct.
ChatGPT, on the other hand, is a language model developed by OpenAI that is also considered state-of-the-art.
Both BARD and ChatGPT are constantly being improved and updated by their respective research teams.
So, while BARD may have some advantages in certain applications, ChatGPT could still be competitive in other areas in the future...
I think OpenAI has definitely got a big head start in the market as they've had their GPT models open to the public for a while now so have able to train them much faster as google hasn't realised BARD to the public yet. I think this is where google will start to take over due to having a superior amount of data to train BARD on.
Will be super interesting to see who comes out on top. I've also seen certain information about phone manufacturers like Apple now having more space on their CPU to support AI models. Will be exciting to see what Apple can bring to the table as well.
