100% !! They act like great sound boards for any issues that you would be facing in the office. It is not necessary that your family members/friends would get the issue as your work bestie would. Also, the inside jokes that only you both would get. And knowing that they would be in the office makes me excited to go to the office every day and also makes me work way more efficiently.

You need someone to validate your thoughts and ideas and thats very human. A bestie at work does solve this social need in a professional env. Moreover, this does make work more enjoyable and incites collaboration among other team members but may end up making some people envy you as well :)
