If you didn't see, last night, a lot of Twitter employees chose resignation over committing to Twitter 2.0, Musk's grand vision for a brand new Twitter. Some have started saying Twitter will last maybe a week and there are reports that the offices have been abruptly closed.
Do you think Twitter can survive? Personally, I think it will, it will be buggy for a while and the World Cup is going to be wild on it, but ultimately I see it lasting.
With a recession at hand, Musk's desire to listen to his Twitter followers, and his ability to take significant risks, I had expected these actions.
Instead of getting caught up in the media circus, look at his successful track record before you sub come to certain assumptions.
I believe Twitter will reach new heights under Elon's guidance. What we now see is the aftermath of a media craze that is desperate for clickbait.
Real entrepreneurs create more with less.

Twitter will definitely survive, new employees will replace those who left, I hope it will be good for it

The real question which seems unaddressed in comments below is whether someone is poised to capitalize on Twitter's weakness and offer a superior experience. In the balance the switching costs for Twitter's users are too high to warrant significant defections. The engine for Twitter is the multitude of users for whom its a significant piece of their branding or communications plan. That said, the current moment is destabilizing - if there are continued outages or security breaches due to short-staffing, then those users are going to be more receptive to an alternative that they wouldn't have been in a place to consider otherwise.
So if say TikTok were to launch a compelling alternative, you might see the balance swing...so likely Twitter isn't gonna fold or anything dramatic, rather a slide into irrelevance as the Next Thing We Didn't Expect arrives...

Yeah definitely. Because Elon Musk is a hell of a Business Person.
Absolutely! Elon Musk's track history is full of controversies and still he has bounced back every time. With Twitter, I think it's unfortunate that people are looking forward for an eventual shut down. It's a huge company and has enough potential to maintain its SM power.
Yes it will "survive" - but I think it is going to become a place no one really wants to be anymore. A lot of people I was following in the security space have already left.
