I just thought about what people who are interested in the product might google and therefore quickly ended up with CodingNotes. I hoped to get the .com domain but unfortunately , it was already taken so I went for codingnotes.io

That wasn’t easy! In fact, I built an MVP faster than came up with naming :) We tried ChatGPT 4th model to seek help with that, however, all of the options were quite boring, and domain names were taken which couldn’t be checked with GPT However, someday we just realized that we help people build web pages with AI. That’s why we’re Paige now :)

I like when the name has the main feature product keyword. It is easier to explain to early adopters.

I am huge on meanings, symbolism or cleverness in names. So in coming up with the name for my startup I wanted to be clever with it. My placeholder name was ShareCo, which stood for Sustainable HAbits and REsources COmmunity, as the product is facilitating sharing of things. But I just wasn't happy with it. I then came up with Once, with the tagline "used by you". The idea is that sometimes we just use things once, and they end up gathering dust. Where I tried to make it clever is the logo. The "n" in the logo is in superscript (n = number), and the "O" is a window to insert "things". So the n provokes the question, "how many times did you use (thing)". Then came the domain name. I made it https://once.eco. If you look at the logo with the small n, eco looks like once in reverse, without the n (better explained visually). And this speaks to my startup idea: reversing junk culture, so that things we might only use once (or twice), become eco-sustainable and friendly when we start sharing them. The tagline "used by you" also has double meaning. "Once used by you" speaks to the owner of the thing, and "used by you" speaks to the person borrowing the thing. I don't think anyone really cares for all that, but that's how I came up with the name :)

@marksachintha I'm sure many do. I was surprised Uber said their name meant nothing haha, yet it definitely has meaning now taking over "taxi".
With great difficulty! I went through about 300 names that were already being used, trademarked, top-level domains taken, etc. Eventually found a six-letter name that was 'in the clear.' It doesn't mean anything relevant to the product, but hopefully the fact it is unique will help with discoverability 🤷‍♀️

I wanted some short name that is unique, easy to remember, also looks good in the URL and of course also has some kind of meaning. So I just brainstormed some names and then kind of tried out my short listed names for a couple of days before deciding (e.g. designed logos, used them in text and conversations etc.). Finally I chose Srive (srive.co) that is a creative adaptation of the word thrive and reflects the product objective namely helping companies to thrive.
