How do you grow a community around the product?

byβ€’
We all know that a community can increase sales and grow the product. But it’s hard to make people interested in the product before it is launched. How do you unite people in a community and stir up interest?

There is no magic bullet to get a community. What works best is a powerful personal network of the founders. It's not smth accessible to any founder - but wee what you could leverage given your existing network.

A channel for the community to interact and learn from each other would help - like slack or circle.

This all depends on the "Practical Value all the Community Members are getting consistently", you could refer to the STEPPS Framework for this-https://www.linkedin.com/posts/s...

The key is to have subject matter expertise and share your knowledge in the niche in a way that members can easily understand and use in their daily life. I love to be part of communities where I can get tips that I can use in daily life and work.

Be a part of your community! Sometimes we are solely focused on growing our community that we separate ourselves from it. It is so important to act like a community member and make sure to contribute to the conversation/your product. This will allow you to see issues within the workflow, areas for improvement, and give you the perspective of your customer. For ex: Our platform, Terkel, is a professional Q&A site that connects experts to publishers. I am responsible for growing the "Expert" side of the platform and making sure they submit quotes to be sent over to our publishers. To be a part of the community, I set a weekly reminder to answer questions on our platform. This has allowed me to discover so many things that need improvement on our platform.

"product" isn't important. The way people value and trust each other is.

Community gathers around certain people or topics of interest; if you can bring anything useful and exciting to the table, people will appreciate it and come back for more!

Building a community of people takes time and a lot of effort. If you're in a rush, people can sense that. Growing slowly will help you in the long run.
