Hey, I'm Alex and I like writing English and TypeScript. I have founded a few companies (most recently Clearbit and Reflect), was an early engineer at Stripe, and I've also written a few O'Reilly books.
I'll be answering questions on November 9th 🔥

Great platform Clearbit - hope you keep finding success and I wish you all the best in your endeavors
@marko_rakic2 Twitter. Because it's actually useful. Which makes it much more dangerous to my productivity.

Heyy Alex🙌 , you are such a great inspiration for young learners like me.
1) I wanna ask you how did you started learning programming at such a young age?
2) And what keeps you motivated throughout your journey?
3) How to stay Productive?
✨Love you work✨
@sakshi07
1) My school forced everyone to do army training. I managed to get out of it by building the school website instead.
2) Motivation is easy when you love the work. Find something you're passionate about and the hours will melt away.
3) Fortunately I have never had an issue here. I can focus in the most crowded coffee shop.
Thank you for the kind words.
Hey Alex! Two questions from me:
1. Top things you've learned from raising a community round with Reflect? (Congrats!)
2. Saw the recent Whisper integration with Reflect. Super cool. Related to AI, what are your thoughts on Generative AI — is it an investable trend or just a cool tool we'll continue to see integrated into pre-existing products? In some ways it seems to have replaced the crypto hype we've seen in recent years, but do you see hyper-growth start-ups resulting from it?
Thanks!
@cristinaibunea
1) I will do a write up of all of this once the round has finished. Too many learnings to put here.
2) It is definitely an investable trend and I wish I knew this last year when I passed on many of the AI copy generating companies, dismissing them as GTP3 wrappers. Today they are some of the fastest growing companies in history. There is huge potential in productizing complex ideas as simple ones.

At what stage is it most important to do a survey for the product?

Hi!
What, do you think about the creative and content economy? Is there something missing there tech-wise?

I’ve used clear it extensively, as a sales person.
So many companies exist in Clearbits domain (Apollo, 6sense, zoominfo etc). Will data (techo firmographic) still be a moat? What’s the next evolution in sales tech to find quality accounts/leads? Anything that excites you?
@edun_kerry I find nothing in the world more fun than startups.
When I left Clearbit I only knew I had to get back to coding. I was searching around for ideas. I knew I loved writing and designing UIs. A note's app was the clear intersection of those things.
