Is an algorithm free feed still practical for staying updated?

I spent some time yesterday cleaning out my daily reading sources and realized how much I miss chronological feeds.

Social apps constantly push trending topics or viral posts which makes it easy to miss quieter high quality posts from smaller creators.

Having a single dashboard where content only appears when a site actually publishes something new sounds much more calm.

The problem is that a lot of modern sites don't even highlight their RSS links anymore.

For anyone who relies on a dedicated reader app, how do you discover new blogs to add to your feed?
