Is anyone else tired of overly complex nots apps and just using basic ones now?

I spent way too much time hopping between different note apps over the last year. Every time I tried a new one, I ended up getting sucked into setting up tags, backlinks, custom templates, and nested folders instead of actually writing anything. Managing the system became a whole project by itself.

A few years ago, I gave up and switched back to just using the default Apple Notes on my phone and a single text file on my desktop. it is nothing flashy, but it is fast and i actually use it without overthinking where a note belongs. The only thing I kind of miss is having better search across everything, but going back to a heavy workspace app feels like too much hassle.

Are you using one big all in one setup for notes, or do you keep it simple? How do you keep things easy to find later without overcomplicating it?
