Lately it feels like every new launch has an “AI” layer built in and it made me wonder:
- Is it becoming a necessity because AI can do so much, so fast, that users now expect it?
- Or are we overusing “AI” as a buzzword?
- What’s the last non-AI product you found genuinely useful?
We recently launched something that’s... AI 😅 and it solves a painful startup problem (taxes), so I’m genuinely curious how others are navigating this shift.
I think it makes sense. AI is an accelerator to every form of software being built. So it makes sense that everything is AI-powered. If someone wasn't using AI, I'd feel suspicious
Everything will run on it — some beautifully, some dangerously, some hilariously.
Users now expect speed, automation, and a little bit of magic. So yeah, AI’s becoming table stakes. But also, not everything needs a neural net — sometimes a good old-fashioned button is the smartest move.
We’ve been watching this shift closely at EveryDev.ai where we track and build tools for developers working in this new electricity-powered world. If it’s AI-powered and actually useful, we’re probably already tracking it.

@joeseifi Imagine how long it takes a founder to research taxes. Now you can get a personalized tax calendar with auto-reminders in just 40 seconds. Try it free: taxhero.vc/checkin
Haha I get your feeling... I don’t think being AI-powered is necessary to be successful, but the reality is that AI has opened so many new doors to improve processes/products, or even to build things we couldn’t before, that it’s normal most founders are using it.
I think without AI, no attraction made by investor or industry related , even customer,
But AI is easy to implement, import to decide what functions will be built with AI.
