The Team of One and the Thing I Could Not Do Alone

I have done everything alone for years. Design, code, support, marketing. It works because I do not have to explain anything to anyone.

But there is one thing I cannot do. I cannot see my own product from the outside. I know too much. I cannot tell if something is confusing because I already know what it does.

I found one person who does not use the product and never will. I ask them one question. What does this screen do?

If they guess wrong, the screen is wrong.

One outsider has been worth more than any internal review I have done. Not because they are smarter. Because they are not me.
