What advice would you give someone who is starting their own company?
by•
I wish someone had told me how much time it would take. I was so naive when I started my company, thinking that it would be easy to get off the ground and make a name for myself.
What I didn't realize until later is that there's so much work involved in building a business and so many things that can go wrong.
I'm grateful for my experience now, but if I could go back and tell myself something about starting a company, it would be:
"Don't expect things to go smoothly. And if you had to pivot... PIVOT!"
Make sure your health routines are in order :) Sleep on time, get enough sunlight and get into the habit of exercising regularly. You’ll need all the
help you can from your body and mind..
Starting a company can be a challenging and rewarding experience. My advice to someone who is just starting out would be:
Develop a clear and compelling vision for your company. Understand what problem you are solving and why it matters.
Conduct thorough market research to understand your target customers, competitors, and industry trends.
Create a solid business plan that outlines your strategies for growth, funding, and profitability.
Surround yourself with a strong team of advisors, partners, and employees who have the skills and experience to help you succeed.
Be prepared to pivot and adapt as you learn more about your customers and the market.
Be persistent and don't give up easily, Starting a business can be difficult and it may take longer time to achieve the goals, but don't lose faith in yourself and your abilities.
Stay organized and focused, prioritize tasks and stay on top of deadlines to ensure that you are making progress.
Finally, be open to feedback and use it to improve your company and yourself.

it's important to have realistic expectations when starting a business. It takes a lot of hard work and perseverance to succeed. Your advice to be prepared to pivot is spot on, it's essential to be adaptable in the business world. Keep pushing forward!
Try many different things (solutions, products, distribution, etc). When startup stories are told, they focus on the one thing that clicked. Most founders go through a bunch of things that didn't work out before stumbling on the one thing that just works.

Mine would be - keep your day job. If you are not happy, change the company and the boss. Same as what Jack Ma said.
One of the things I always remind founders that I work with is the importance of a sound GTM strategy: Identify who your customers are (your ICP) and identify the strategies and tactics used to acquire them. That needs to be well thought out.
Don't be afraid to delegate when the time comes. Hire people that are better than you.
