What are some of the best under-the-radar tools that you know of or use?

by
I am a sucker of niche tools which are not as popular their other alternatives, but they get the work done just fine, or in some cases even better.

CleanShot X for taking/managing screen shots. Does one thing very well...game changer. Makes me realize how much of my workflow is screenshots.

@kategallo sounds amazing. unfortunately they don't seem to work for Windows. thanks for sharing, Kate!

"Everything" by www.voidtools.com. It is google for your hard drive. Just type any string you think might be part of the filename, and it finds all files and all locations that have that string in the name. It's freeware, with no spam. Integrates with Windows Explorer. Truly fantastic. It's boosted my file-finding productivity by at least 30-50%.

@travelmodel i can already see my hours saved! thanks for sharing, Mike!

@swapdp_01 I now name files with "tags" so I can find them later. Even when I know where a file is, I still use this "Everything" tool because typing 5 letters from the name is much faster than following 7 directories to get to it.

@travelmodel makes a ton of sense!

This is a site I recently stumbled over: https://www.saasscreenshots.com - it is the biggest SaaS app screenshot database where you can learn a lot from how other SaaS founders convey a particular message as a copy - kudos @levent_askan !

@gorkemcetin thanks for sharing this gem of a resource, Gorkem! @levent_askan congratulations and all the best for the launch!

I use it to put all my business assets, plan everything, my to do list, databases, there's not much i can't do with it! If you check it out and want to add it to your toolbox, use my promo code (Deanna_Bugalski) and you can get 25% the annual pro plan. I promise i don't work for them, i just love the product so much!

@robingood Damn! Love it. When I asked this question a month back, I was wondering why wasn't there any directory or newsletter which does this!? And now I have found one! Subscribed. 🚀

@swapdp_01 Honored.
Sandra Djajic
GummySearch for Reddit communities and popular discussions :)
Swapnil D Puranik
@sandradjajic yep, have used it in the past. it's a great tool. 👍🏻
Sandra Djajic
@swapdp_01 It really is but it takes time to understand it and make the most out of it :)
Swapnil D Puranik
@sandradjajic true that! I explored it for a few days just to get a hang of it, but didn't use it after since I had no direct use case of it.
Théo Champion

Swapnil D Puranik
@theo_champion pretty niche tool and massively useful for DevRels! 💯

Workspaces (by Apptorium) - it cuts everyday prep for work. It gathers things needed for a particular project (like links, files, folders, apps, terminal and more) and lets them launch with one click.
Swapnil D Puranik
@w_j Sounds cool...unfortunately I am a Windows user. :)
