What does social media in the future look like?

byβ€’
Everyday, we are undoubtedly evolving as tech-enthusiasts and I believe social media is going to be a huge disruption in our lives. Do you think technologies like AI, VR, Metaverse would greatly influence the upcoming dimensions of social media. Would love to hear your perspective on what social media holds in the future?

I think Metaverse and VR have started their journey a little bit early... Unfortunately, these significant-tech developments haven't been adapted to our daily social media experience. However, I believe that AI tech has been the easiest tech development to adopt in today's digital age, amongst others. From creating content to analyzing comments' sentiments, AI has successfully earned its spot in our daily social media activities and analysis. For example, Socialays is launching its AI-powered free social media cyberbullying prevention app on the Product Hunt next week. If you're also interested in new AI-supported social media management apps I'd recommend you to check out Socialays' social media management & analysis features: socialays.com Btw, feel free to support Socialays' free app on PH by subscribing its upcoming page: https://www.producthunt.com/upco... Introducing AI and VR in social media will make it more disruptive...

Very good topic! I believe content will be more scattered and niche, thus social media will have a loose structure but still connect with one topic and another. Also there would be more social media platforms for various niche and interests.

Don't know what future holds but current social media is 90% consumption and 10% creation. Social media was meant to be social not just the brands and influencer pushing content to the apps. It has turned agin into a cable network just with more control over what we want to consume. Major KPI for facebook and youtube are same - basically content consumed, but one is social media and other is media publishing by definition :)

@advait_vaidya3 Completely agree, it was meant to be a much more democratised and involving medium but it has become a big virtual mall.

social media will become more immersive and interactive in order not just to share content but also to interact with one another. This would be done through digital platforms like virtual reality (VR) or augmented reality (AR).

Ai, VR , Metaverse may be part of the future of social media. But instead of thinking about what technology can be involved in, I think more about the problems it can solve. In the future, as social media become more interconnected to different aspects of our lives, it is important to improve information overload and misinformation.

Real relationships make life meaningful. I'd like to believe that our phones bring us together one day. Check out OpenMat - we launch this week and are trying to do just that!
