Why is tailoring resumes still so manual in 2026?
Hey everyone 👋
We’re in 2026. We have AI copilots, autonomous agents, and real-time code generation.
Yet when it comes to job applications… most people are still manually editing resumes for every role.
Copy → paste → tweak keywords → adjust bullets → guess what the ATS wants → repeat.
I’m building Intera Apply, and before we launch, I genuinely want to understand:
1️⃣ Do you actually tailor your resume for every job?
2️⃣ If yes — how long does it take you?
3️⃣ If no — what stops you? Time? Effort? Not knowing what to change?
4️⃣ Have you ever wished you could see what an ATS “sees” before applying?
From what I’ve observed, candidates either:
Send the same resume everywhere
Or manually optimize without clear feedback
Both feel inefficient in an AI-first world.
So I’m curious —
Why is resume tailoring still so manual in 2026?
Would love insights from:
• Job seekers
• Recruiters
• Hiring managers
• Anyone building in the hiring space
What’s broken here? And what would a truly helpful solution look like?
Appreciate your thoughts 🙌
