👋 Any solo developers here? Would love to hear how you’re building

by•
Hello, Product Hunt👋 I came to Product Hunt because I know there are a lot of solo developers here. Building alone is exciting, but also pretty tough sometimes. You have to plan, build, design, market — all by yourself. Some days you’re confident, other days you’re full of doubts. I kept wondering: Are there more people thinking the same way as me? How do other solo developers stay motivated and keep going? That curiosity brought me here. I’d love to hear how you’re building, what you’re struggling with, and what keeps you moving forward. If you’re working solo, let’s share experiences, help each other out, and try to build consistently together. Looking forward to learning from you all 🚀

@boogios, welcome to Product Hunt!

I think, over a period of time, solo developers fade very quickly from PH. That's very unfortunate but it's the truth.

You may connect with one or two today, learn a thing or two from them, and tomorrow they will be gone.

As per my observation, the reason is same. They don't get what they want and it could be as simple as not getting support in the form of upvotes, comments, reviews. To answer your question, not getting visibility is probably the biggest struggle and nightmare of any indie builder.

Hey @boogios, I'm Shivam, a solo founder from India building Map Your Voyage—an app that helps you plan trips from Instagram reels.

I completely relate to your post; the highs of building alone are thrilling, but the doubts and juggling everything from code to marketing can be overwhelming. After leaving my software engineering job in Singapore last year, I've learned how vital a co-founder feels for balance, though I'm pushing forward solo for now.

Marketing has been my biggest hurdle as an introvert—I haven't done paid ads yet but plan to soon. I will probably try to grow this for a few more months but if things do not work out, I might get a job again & work on this as a side hustle. Investing more than a year of my life without any visible success is scary.

I'd truly value your thoughts on the product or any advice on staying motivated as a solo dev. Happy to chat tech, growth, or anything else! 🚀
