First day of launch, thought I'd say hi
Hi all, just a couple of hours into our launch today, so wish me luck :)
I've been around here for a while and thought today would be a good time to say hi. We've launched something new, and I'm curious to hear from others who've been through this experience.
It's called Metropolix, an interactive startup world built with Threejs and low-poly graphics. The idea is to create something different from existing directories and branding platforms, while keeping it lightweight and smooth to explore.
It's a solo developer project, shaped by my own ideas and inputs and suggestions from the Startup Fortune team. Taking it from idea to concept to execution has been a great experience so far.
We announced it yesterday, and so far the traffic has been encouraging. A few startups have already joined, and I've also reached out to startups we've worked with before. We've created a Twitter page and an Instagram account too, and are hoping to share more as we go along. I've also added real-time traffic data to the website so visitors can see what's happening.
It's still in beta, and I feel there's so much more that can be done if other startups find it as interesting as I do. Only time will tell.
I'd genuinely appreciate honest feedback, including anything I've missed or could have done better. For anyone working on animation, gaming, character or visual asset design, 3D or VR projects, I'd also be happy to discuss the technical side. Three.js and low-poly assets can go a long way, and it's been interesting to see how lightweight and fast the experience can be.
For those who've launched products here before, what did you focus on during the first day, and what would you do differently?
Thanks for reading, and have a fantastic day!
