Hey PH! I'm Gianmarco, a software engineer from Italy building Aitinery

by

Hey everyone! I'm Gianmarco, a software engineer based in Italy. After years of planning trips for friends and family (and being the unofficial "travel agent" of my group), I decided to build something that could do it better than me — or at least faster.

I'm working on Aitinery (aitinery.com), an AI-powered travel planner that specializes in Italy. The idea is simple: instead of spending hours on Google Maps, blogs, and TripAdvisor trying to piece together an itinerary, you tell our AI what kind of trip you want and it builds a complete day-by-day plan with real places, accurate travel times, local restaurants, and hidden gems.

What makes it different from other AI travel tools? We use a multi-agent architecture (built on Google ADK + Gemini) where specialized agents handle different parts of the itinerary — one researches locations, another plans the daily schedule, another adds local food recommendations. Think of it as a team of travel experts collaborating, not just one chatbot.

Some things I'm proud of so far:

  • Real transport data (actual train schedules, not estimated times)

  • - A "Travel Twin" feature where the AI adapts to your travel personality

  • - Focus on authentic local experiences over tourist traps

I'm building in public and planning to launch on Product Hunt soon. Would love to connect with other makers here, especially those in AI, travel, or SaaS. Always happy to chat about multi-agent systems, travel tech, or the joys and pains of being a solo founder.

What's your #1 frustration when planning a trip? I'd love to hear what problems you'd want an AI travel planner to solve!

Welcome to Product Hunt, @giammbo

I liked the product name! Very innovative...

For me, the #1 frustration when planning a trip is figuring out safe places and stops in advance, especially when travelling with family.

@ashok_nayak  Thanks so much for the warm welcome! And yes, safety + family travel is a huge pain point that most travel apps completely ignore. We're actually working on a feature that flags areas with family-friendly amenities and safety ratings, especially for cities like Naples or Rome where certain neighborhoods can feel overwhelming if you don't know them well. Would love to hear more about what "safe stops" means for you — rest areas? kid-friendly restaurants? Or more like neighborhoods to avoid?

@giammbo Yes, everything you mentioned at the end counts as a safe stop.
Gianmarco Carrieri

@ashok_nayak  That's super helpful — thanks for clarifying! So essentially the full package: rest areas, kid-friendly restaurants, AND neighborhoods to avoid.

This is exactly the kind of local knowledge that generic travel apps miss completely. Google Maps will show you every restaurant near the Colosseum, but it won't tell you which ones actually have high chairs and a kids menu vs. which ones will give you death stares if your toddler drops a fork.

We're definitely prioritizing this for Italian cities first. If you ever plan a trip to Italy with family, I'd love for you to test it out and tell me if we actually nailed the "safe stops" thing or if we're still missing something. Real user feedback > our assumptions, always.

Sure @giammbo If fate permits, I shall remember you before planning an Italy "aitinery" 😉

Hey @giammbo great to meet you! 🤝 I love the name "aitinery" that is super clever! Your site looks great too, this is something I hoped someone would launch one day, and I'm looking forward to seeing you expand it into new countries. Would be really cool for London - where I'm based and always looking for things to do in my city. For me, the #1 frustration when planning a trip is finding activities based on my budget and fitting around time constraints. Hope the launch goes well.

Gianmarco Carrieri

@minhajulll  Thanks Minhajul! London is definitely on the radar - the budget + time constraints combo is exactly what we are designing for. Will let you know when we expand there!
