Hi, I’m Silas — indie dev rebuilding in public after overbuilding in private
Hi everyone, I’m Silas Lee.
I’m an indie developer behind Tidemason.
Over the past months, I built too many things in private:
apps, prototypes, landing pages, tools, and experiments.
Some shipped, but most never reached real users.
I recently did a reset:
- archived old experiments
- cleaned up my domains
- kept only Tidemason as my public lab
- started focusing on distribution and user feedback earlier
Right now I’m learning how to build smaller, talk to users sooner, and create better feedback loops instead of disappearing into private building mode.
I’m especially interested in:
- small app launches
- product validation
- distribution
- vibe coding with AI
- honest postmortems
Looking forward to learning from everyone here.
If you’ve ever gone through a “reset” like this, I’d love to hear how you handled it.

Smart reset, Silas! I've been there...overbuilt in private before refocusing on distribution and launches. Will check out Tidemason.
If you're up for it, I'm launching The Sponge on PH soon...AI-powered flashcard app that turns webpages into spaced repetition study material. Would appreciate a follow (PRODUCT HUNT LAUNCH link in profile).
