I'm Ahmed, maker of CloudPrompt (free AI prompt organizer with Google Drive). Ask me anything!

by•

Hi everyone! 👋 I'm Ahmed, and I just launched @CloudPrompt on Product Hunt last week.

About me

I'm a Business Development Manager with 10 years of experience in tech and sales. I'm also a PhD researcher and heavy AI tools user — I spend my days in ChatGPT, Claude, and Gemini. But here's the problem I kept running into: my prompts were scattered everywhere. Notepad files, Google Docs, chat history... a complete mess.

Every single day, I'd lose 15-20 minutes just hunting for prompts I'd already written. The final straw? I accidentally deleted a prompt I'd spent 20 minutes perfecting. That's when I decided enough is enough — I needed to build a solution.

About @CloudPrompt

CloudPrompt is a free #Chrome extension that solves one problem: finding your AI prompts in under 1 second.

Here's what makes it different:

The Problem We Solve:

- Prompts scattered across Notepad, Google Docs, chat history = lost time

- No organization = messy lists everywhere

- Platform lock-in = stuck with one AI tool

- Privacy concerns = your work stored on someone else's servers

Our Solution:

- Ctrl+Shift+Y — Access ANY prompt in under 1 second on ANY website

- YOUR Google Drive — Your data stays private. We can't see it. Ever.

- Templates — Create prompts with [VARIABLE] placeholders, fill in the blanks

- Cross-platform — Works with ChatGPT, Claude, Gemini, any website

- 100% FREE — Core features free forever (Your data is on YOUR Drive, so zero server costs for me)

Why I Made It Free:

Your prompts are stored in YOUR Google Drive. I have zero server costs. Why would I charge for something that costs me nothing to provide? Your data is yours. That's the deal.

Why I'm Here

I'm hosting this AMA because:

- I built CloudPrompt to solve my own problem (still use it 20+ times a day)

- I discovered I wasn't alone — many AI power users have the same pain point

- I want to share the journey: why I built it, how long it took, lessons learned

- I'm curious what YOU need in prompt management tools

- I genuinely want to hear feedback and improve the product

What I'll Answer

Ask me anything about:

- The problem: Why prompt organization is harder than it should be

- The build: How I went from frustrated user to builder (no formal CS background in extension dev)

- The decisions: Why privacy-first, why free, why Chrome extension

- The roadmap: What's coming next (right-click insert, drag-drop org, keyboard navigation)

- The business: How I plan to sustain this while keeping it free

- Product Hunt: Lessons from launching, dealing with low engagement, the process

- Being a maker: Balancing a full-time job + solo founder life

- Literally anything else you're curious about!

I'm committed to answering every single question over the next 24+ hours. Fire away!
