New here π Day job by day, building my own things by night
Hey everyone! π
I'm Gabriel, a software engineer from South Africa πΏπ¦. I've spent 25+ years building software for other people, and this year I finally started building my own things after hours.
No team, no VC. Just me, a day job and a slightly unhealthy relationship with late nights. π
If you're building something of your own, you probably know how it goes:
π‘ Get the idea in the shower
π Ship it at 1 AM
π€ Wake up wondering if it's brilliant or ridiculous
This year taught me that the doubt doesn't go away. You just learn to build alongside it.
What keeps me going is the moment a stranger uses something I made and it actually helps them. β€οΈ
I'm new here and launching my first product this week, and I already feel like I've found my people.
So I'd love to know: what keeps you going on the days the doubt wins the argument?
