Knack MCP Server - The HIPAA-compliant backend for AI builders
by•
AI tools like Lovable, Base44, or Claude Code can get a healthcare app up and running quickly. The backend is where healthcare gets complicated. Once PHI is involved, you need compliant data storage, record retention, and a signed BAA.
Knack Health is the HIPAA-compliant backend built for healthcare apps. Connect your AI frontend and get 700+ integrations, a signed BAA, and unlimited users starting at $499. We handle the compliance layer, so you can go from prototype to production.

Hey Product Hunt!
We're excited to announce Knack's MCP Server, the "unlock" to getting your vibecoded AI app HIPAA-compliant.
The problem we kept hearing from builders using Lovable, Claude Code, and Base44 was some version of the same story: they'd built something genuinely useful, then hit a wall when they tried to take it somewhere serious. A healthcare organization, an enterprise client, a regulated business — any of those buyers has requirements around data security, access controls, and compliance that most AI-generated apps don't come close to meeting. The frontend was done. The backend was the problem.
Knack's MCP server is our answer to that. Connect any MCP-compatible AI coding tool to Knack and you get a hosted relational database, role-based access controls, record change logs, and 700+ integrations behind whatever you're building. For healthcare teams specifically, Knack Health adds HIPAA-compliant infrastructure and a signed BAA before any patient data enters the platform.
We're live with setup guides for Lovable, Claude Code, Base44, and Replit today. More tool-specific integrations and templates are coming.
Happy to answer questions about the architecture, the HIPAA setup, or anything else. What are you building?
@elliott_sprecher3 Bridging ai frontends directly to a HIPAA-compliant relational backend solves a massive headache for regulated SaaS. how does schema creation and migration work via mcp when the ai generates new tables or modifies relational data on the fly? congrats for launch

@vikramp7470 Much appreciated! To answer your question, once your AI tool's backend (let's say Lovable, for example) is migrated to Knack, via the AI agent you configure the platform to wire all schema updates to the Knack backend. Therefore in future edits, it will modify the Knack backend directly and bypass the Lovable backend entirely using runtime API. Hopefully that answers your question. Thanks again!

Hello Product Hunt community! Building on what Elliott shared, From a product perspective this is one of the clearest signals we have seen from our customer base all year: builders kept telling us the same thing, that standing up an app is the easy part, and proving it is safe enough for real data is where things get hard. Closing that gap between prototype and production is exactly why we built the Knack MCP Server, and we could not be more excited about it. We are already digging into feedback from healthcare and enterprise teams (as well as many small business and consulting shops!) on what they need next, so if you are building something that needs to grow up fast, come talk to us, we would love to help…. Happy Knacking!

This is a HUGE for vibe coders 😮💨 taking something from “cool prototype” to actually enterprise/healthcare-ready is no small thing. Congrats on the launch @elliott_sprecher3 @john_karas
