Friend A Felon the mobile app was officially launched in April 2021 and has a focus on aiding with reentry for individuals with criminal convictions. It is a mobile application that offers a different experience for felons, employers and property owners while providing transparency for all parties. Around 650,000 people are released from prison yearly and many of them have difficulty finding employment and housing after release. The app is designed to bridge the gap between this untapped market of eager and determined potential employees and the fair chance employers open to welcoming them. Employers are able to post job listings through the app and may qualify for candidate matching by letting us know which felonies they are willing to accept for each listing. This process helps felons narrow down their options and avoid wasting time when applying. Friend A Felon also offers a housing marketplace as well where property owners can list felony friendly housing opportunities in seconds. The app offers assistance to returning citizens through a frequently updated nationwide database of over 20,000 job opportunities and a National Resource Center with information such as expungement laws and reentry programs. Users even have the ability to post casual employment opportunities such as contract work. Additionally, there is a forum platform where these users can browse through our topics, upload Felon of the Week submissions, or join the statewide forum to engage with other users in their area and much more....
