Locker is a secure text editor for Windows that uses AES-256 encryption to protect sensitive text-based information. It is designed to be saved in a cloud storage service such as OneDrive, Google Drive, or DropBox and accessed from there. Locker is free software that was developed in my spare time and does not offer customer support. It features case-sensitive whole-word text search, the ability to generate 16-digit high-entropy passphrases, automatic rotation of data files for backup purposes, and is portable, meaning it can be copied and run from a USB or cloud storage. It is compiled for both 32 and 64-bit Windows systems and is compressed with UPX. While most antivirus programs consider Locker to be safe, it has received some false positives from antivirus programs that use heuristic algorithms. I advise adding Locker to antivirus exceptions to avoid issues. Locker requires users to set a master password, which should not be lost as it is the only way to access the encrypted data. The text editor can be turned on or off to prevent accidental editing of the data.
