What kind of computer does your AI agent need?
by•
Hi everyone! I’m Maria, cofounder of Maritime.
We built Maritime because agents need different computers for different jobs: a sandbox to run code, a persistent workspace, or a desktop or phone to use apps with no API.
You can host any kind of agent and customize its environment, all through one API.
I’d love to hear what you’re building. What does your agent need to run, and what’s been hardest about getting it working?

I'm working on an SDK for tracing AI agent executions, so I'm dealing with a slightly different side of the problem.
One challenge has been making tracing work across different agent setups without requiring too many code changes.
Having a consistent environment for running agents sounds really useful. Curious how Maritime handles agents that are already running elsewhere.
Congrats on the launch!
The sandbox vs persistent workspace split is the part that rings true for me. When I run coding agents I want the code execution itself disposable — tear it down, start clean — but the workspace state (the repo, the files the agent already explored, its notes) needs to survive between sessions or every run pays the cold-start cost again. The hardest bit has been exactly that boundary: deciding what gets wiped and what persists without turning the persistent side into a junk drawer.
