Hey everyone , I came across something that surprised me: many smart glasses (like Ray-Ban Meta or Snap Spectacles) can record video while looking almost identical to regular glasses. There’s usually no clear visual indicator when recording, which made me wonder how people could know if these devices are nearby in sensitive places like meetings, classrooms, or private spaces. That curiosity led me to build Nearby Lens The app passively listens for Bluetooth signals that many smart glasses broadcast while powered on. It doesn’t require pairing and runs entirely on-device. Currently it can identify signals from Ray-Ban Meta, Snap Spectacles, Bose Frames, and several other models, with a confidence score to reduce false positives. Privacy was important to me while building this — device identifiers are hashed locally and nothing leaves your phone. It’s available on iOS and Android, and I’d really appreciate any feedback, ideas, or concerns you might have. Curious to hear what you think or how you’d use something like this. Thanks! Rex
