Hey Product Hunt! I built Octopus Review because I was frustrated with how shallow most automated code review tools are. They catch syntax issues but miss the big picture: architectural problems, business logic errors, inconsistent patterns across the codebase. Octopus Review is different. It indexes your entire codebase using vector search (Qdrant) and Cohere Rerank, so when it reviews a PR, it actually understands the context. It knows how your code fits together, what patterns your team follows, and what might break downstream. I'd love to hear your feedback. What's the biggest pain point in your code review workflow?

We’ve been using Octopus at Developtica and the experience has been very successful so far. It brings much more context into code review and helps our team catch meaningful issues faster. The feedback feels practical, relevant, and actually useful in real workflows.

Tried it on a Go service with a lot of shared utilities. It flagged a PR that would've silently broken an upstream dependency, something no linter would've caught. The vector search approach pays off in practice. Still early but the direction is solid. Good to see it open-source too

I tried Octopus Review on one of my old Unity projects. It was really fast and the feedback was very accurate.

What I liked most is that it actually understands the project, not just small code issues. It pointed out real problems and helped me see the current state of the project more clearly.

I think it’s a great tool to use alongside developers, especially for understanding and improving existing codebases.

It could be a great alternative for those who are looking for a free alternative of CodeRabbit

@prasit Exactly, Prasit! That's the idea behind keeping it open-source and self-hostable. Would love to hear your thoughts if you get a chance to try it!
