How can you promote your launch when the "Coming soon" page is not longer available?

Yesterday, @rohanrecommends noticed some changes on this Platform – the "Coming soon" page is gone.

There's no reason to panic because you have plenty of options to be visible, for example:

  • You can place the PH badge (button for support) on your landing page.

  • You can send a reminder email or push notification to your supporter.

  • You can set up a LinkedIn/Facebook virtual event where you insert the link for your launch.

  • You can use PH forums with relevant categories to make announcements if you have previously launched, for example, p/Google, allowing you to use the platform directly. 😉

... just to name a few that came to my mind at the moment.

How do you plan to "change strategy" when the Coming Soon page is not available?

Feel free to share your POV on this change and your solutions.

My teaser page disappeared this morning, which shocked me since the launch is tomorrow 😅 But it’s actually a relief. The old link now goes straight to my launch page, so I won’t confuse people with two different links.

@trace__subin This is actually good thing they connected it to launch page. I remember how hard time I had to settle it a few years back (I mean launch page) :D I think that back then, I didn't know how to do it properly :D

We can redirect attention to social platforms, communities, and lightweight signup forms to keep momentum before and after launch.

  • Social Media Teasers – Share behind-the-scenes content, feature highlights, short demo clips, or countdown posts on LinkedIn on B2B, Twitter (X), Instagram, and TikTok on B2C.

  • Email Announcements – If you’ve already built a mailing list, send teasers and launch announcements directly.

  • Community Engagement – Post in relevant AI, SaaS, or industry-specific communities (Reddit, Hacker News, Indie Hackers, PH discussions).

@jared_dean I really liked the idea promote it offline on conferences :D

@jared_dean You are welcome :)

I also thought about that yesterday as I want to launch a product on Thursday this week.
What could be tips for first time launch of a product?

Nika

@veit_josef_schneider Warm up people who are the most active on this platform. When you have "a heart of veterans" and well-known people on this platform, others are more likely to join. Social media announcements as well.

Thanks for sharing! The idea of a Facebook event sounds great.

As for the 'coming soon' page, well, I honestly didn't see a ton of value in those pages anyway. I always felt like they didn't generate much real engagement or momentum.

Nika

@oksana_ch Did you somehow track metrics?

Sorry for the self promotion but in case anyone finds it useful: I built Startt which does exactly this. It’s a coming soon page builder with email campaigns. Would love to feedback if any has any! https://www.producthunt.com/prod...

@jamiepeak You found a good way to promote yourself! :D :)

Great question @busmark_w_nika — funny enough, just about all of your suggestions are the ones I used to offer before the teaser page was created, so I guess it's back to basics.

The more Product Hunt ebbs and flows, the more it continues to persistently revolve around the daily leaderboard!

Nika

@chrismessina I found the "Notify me" page quite useful (for makers and for me, as a visitor of the web too, because I learnt more about the product/makers). Still believe that the team will come up with some improvements that will be beneficial for makers in the future. 🤞

Thanks for sharing these tips! Another way to stay informed about local property trends is by checking the Pasco property records regularly. It’s a great way to keep track of updates on homes, parcels, and land values, which can help plan your next move or investment strategy effectively.

I think with the “Coming Soon” page gone, it actually pushes makers to build more authentic pre-launch momentum outside of PH. Some approaches I’m planning:

  • Creating teaser content (short videos, behind-the-scenes posts) on LinkedIn & Twitter to warm up my audience.

  • Running a simple landing page with an email sign-up + PH badge so people can get notified directly.

  • Using communities like Indie Hackers, Reddit, and relevant Slack groups to build curiosity before the launch day.

  • Scheduling reminder emails to early supporters with calendar invites so they don’t forget to check PH on launch day.

Instead of depending solely on PH’s “Coming Soon” page, this feels like a good opportunity to diversify visibility and rally a stronger community around the launch.

@mahnoor_shahid1 If you know about some Slack groups, feel free to share :D
