rhun 0.17.14: OpenCode sessions, searchable settings, and smoother editing

by•

The last release update I posted here was 0.17.9. We're now at 0.17.14, with a few additions and a lot of work on the small things you feel while editing.

Here's what's changed since then:

• OpenCode joins the Agents panel, alongside Claude Code, Codex, and Grok Build. Both OpenCode 1 and 2 are supported. You can read sessions from your project and its Git worktrees, see which model a session uses, and turn individual providers on or off in Settings.

• Settings now filter as you type, and you can open Settings from the command palette. The terminal has its own font and line-height controls, separate from the editor.

• Reopen closed tabs with Ctrl+Shift+T. Each tab keeps its scroll position, switching focus keeps your view in place, and a + button after the last tab opens a new file. Tabs also follow files and folders renamed or deleted in the explorer.

• More work on speed: faster opening of large files, less repeated work while searching and drawing long lines, quicker Replace All, and fewer redraws during busy terminal output. Panel resizing is smoother, with a double-click to reset a divider.

• Better V syntax highlighting, keypad zoom, Shift+wheel horizontal scrolling on Linux and Windows, and fixes for live file updates on macOS and the Windows install command.

We're also working on experimental Vinix support, including a native ARM64 window backend, clipboard sharing, and reliable file reloads. This is still a separate experiment with Vinix-side changes required, not a supported release target yet. I'll share more as it becomes ready to try.

Thanks to everyone sending fixes and trying rhun in their daily workflow.

rhun is free, MIT licensed, and has no telemetry. The released builds run on Linux, Windows, and Apple silicon Macs.

Release notes:

If you've been using OpenCode, I'd like to hear how the session view works for you.

Reopening closed tabs with Ctrl+Shift+T and having each tab remember its scroll position is the kind of small thing I miss the second it’s gone. Tabs following renamed files in the explorer is a nice touch too...

Like the pace of updates steady really like the tab persistence and ctrl+shift+T. Huge quality of life improvements. also super happy to see OpenCode added to the agents panel with claude and grok. keep up the great work
