This is a major update to Sato Player aimed at the no-code dev community building marketing sites. I am excited to see the features in action among the amazing dev folks and would love to hear what everyone feels about it.
Apart from minor enhancements to existing features, we have introduced in-video call-to-actions, using which marketers can easily build sales funnels to convert passive viewers into active customers. Also, super progress bar is a great tool to ensure higher engagement by reducing the friction felt by viewers watching longer videos.
I'd also like to add that features aside, we've streamlined the payment processing and now have two separate payment gateways for our global and Indian users. For our global users, PayPal is the default processor and for India, it is Razorpay. In addition to that, we have also modified our invoicing module and adhered it to taxation standard of India.
From compliance (GDPR etc.) POV, every video player you embed is essentially cookie-less, unless you add anything on top of it yourself. The only cookies we collect are on our dashboard.
P.S. We are pushing the same version up on Webflow and it is only a matter of time before this version is fully available on the Webflow plugin as well.
Best of luck devs.

Really happy to see Sato 2.0 finally out!
I worked on the UX side of this, and honestly, a big goal for us was to make videos feel less like something you just embed… and more like something that actually belongs inside your product.
A lot of what we added came from real feedback and small frustrations we noticed earlier:
The blank start : so we added Themes to help you get going faster.
Videos feeling passive : In-video CTA makes them more actionable
People skipping around : the Super Progress Bar helps guide attention better
Accessibility gaps : AI Captions make everything easier to follow
We tried to keep everything simple, but more intentional.
If you’ve used Sato before, would really love for you to try this version and tell me what feels better (or what still doesn’t). Always open to feedback.

As someone working closely on the Sato Player, this 2.0 release feels like a big step toward what we originally envisioned—making video feel native to the product instead of just an embedded element.
A few things I’m personally excited about from a dev perspective:
Themes aren’t just visual presets—they reduce the need for custom styling layers and make it much easier to integrate Sato into different UI systems without fighting CSS overrides.
The in-video CTA system was a fun challenge. Getting precise timing, positioning, and responsiveness right across layouts took effort, but it opens up a lot of product use cases beyond passive video.
The Super Progress Bar is subtle but impactful. Controlling user navigation and perception of progress required careful handling of player state and UX edge cases.
AI Captions significantly improve accessibility and usability, and integrating that smoothly into the player experience was something we wanted from the start.
A big focus for us was reducing friction for developers embedding Sato while still giving enough flexibility to build custom experiences.
There’s still a lot we want to improve, but this version feels much closer to a productized video experience layer rather than just a player.
Would genuinely love to hear how others are integrating it and where it can be pushed further.
