Free Reddit scraper I built for myself (now sharing it)

byβ€’

Hey PH! πŸ‘‹

Quick backstory: I'm building a SaaS and needed to find potential users on Reddit. But manually scrolling through subreddits looking for relevant threads? Absolute time sink.

So I built a desktop tool to do the boring part for me. It's called Reddit Toolbox and I figured I'd share it since other makers probably have the same problem.

What it does:

Find communities fast – I type in a few keywords and it spits out a list of related subreddits with member counts and activity stats. Way faster than googling "best subreddits for X."

Bulk scrape posts – I can pull 300+ posts from any subreddit in about 10 seconds. The killer feature? Filtering by comment count. I set it to "under 5 comments" and instantly see threads where the OP asked a question but nobody really answered yet. Easy opportunities.

Grab user data – From those posts, it extracts active users with their karma, account age, and which other subs they hang out in. Super useful for understanding who your audience actually is.

Analyze subreddits & users – There's a deep-dive mode that shows posting frequency, popular topics, best times to post. I use this before deciding if a community is worth my time.

AI replies – If I'm lazy, I can have it draft a reply for me. I still edit it, but it saves me from staring at a blank text box.

The whole thing runs locally on my PC (Win/Mac), so it uses my own IP instead of some datacenter that Reddit blocks instantly.

Why free?

Honestly, I built it for myself. The free tier does 15 scrapes/day which is enough for most people. There's a premium version if you need unlimited + CSV export, but you can get real value without paying anything.

You can grab it here: https://www.wappkit.com/download

Would love to hear if you find it useful or if there's a feature you wish it had. πŸ™

@billyhong What is the SaaS that you're working on and built this scraping tool for?

Billy

Thanks for checking it out everyone πŸ™Œ
Just to be clear β€” this started as a selfish tool because I was tired of missing good Reddit threads. I’m still using it daily while building my SaaS.

The free version isn’t a teaser either. 15 scrapes/day is honestly enough unless you’re doing this at scale.
If you try it and something feels clunky or missing, tell me β€” I’m actively iterating on it.

Appreciate all the feedback so far πŸ™

A good product indeed, do you have a version for other OS? Also curious to know about the pricing.
