I built a free Chrome extension to make rejecting cookies easier β launching today! π
Hey Product Hunt community! π
Today I'm launching Refuse to Share, a free Chrome extension I've been working on independently.
The idea came from a simple question: Why is accepting cookies usually so much easier than rejecting them?
We visit dozens of websites, constantly facing cookie banners, and often end up accepting things we never really intended to.
So I built Refuse to Share to automatically reject non-essential cookies, while leaving users in control of what they choose to share.
My philosophy is simple:
Privacy isn't about refusing to share. It's about choosing consciously what to share.
The extension is still evolving, especially when it comes to compatibility across different websites.
I'd love to hear your thoughts, particularly on one question:
Would you prefer an extension that rejects cookies automatically but occasionally asks for your intervention, or one that tries to handle everything even when the result is uncertain?
Here's today's launch:

Any genuine feedback would mean a lot. Thanks for checking it out!

To your question: automatic by default, and ask only when it genuinely can't tell, for example when rejecting might break a login or a checkout. If it asks often, people switch it off, so remembering my choice per site matters more than asking well. A small counter of how many banners it handled today would also make the quiet work visible, otherwise a good extension is one you forget you installed. Good luck with the launch today!
