I built pay-per-tester user testing for solo founders. Where does it lose you?
I’m Can, and I run TestFi (testfi.app).
AI made it a lot easier for one person to build and ship an app, and there are many more solo founders now because of it. User testing didn’t keep up. UserTesting, the name everyone knows, sells annual contracts to companies with research teams. I wanted something a solo founder could buy one tester at a time.
You paste a TestFlight link, an APK, a Play link or a URL and write what you want people to try. Testers use it on their own phones. On the video option they record the screen and talk while they go, so you hear the moment they get stuck. Every session gets an AI score before you open it, and the low-effort ones are rejected without charging you.
Pricing is $3.99 per tester for written feedback and $5.99 for a narrated recording, no subscription. Android devs on a new personal account also use it for Google’s 12-testers-for-14-days rule: $39.99 for 16 seats, and if fewer than 12 are still opted in on day 14, the re-run is free.
We’re launching here on Sunday, 25 October. Before that I’d like to hear from people who build apps:
On your last launch, what stopped you from testing with real users? Price, time, or not knowing who to ask?
If you try the signup, where does it lose you?
I’ll reply to every comment.
