I built Worta - a private Chrome extension for learning words while browsing

Hey Product Hunt community,

I’m Aleksei, the maker of Worta - a Chrome extension that helps language learners translate, save, and review new words directly while browsing the web.

I built Worta because I often read websites in other languages and kept running into the same problem: translating a word is easy, but actually remembering it later is much harder.

Worta turns everyday reading into vocabulary practice:

• Select text on any webpage and get an instant translation
• Save words and phrases to your personal vocabulary
• Review them later with Anki-style flashcards
• Use spaced repetition based on a 5-box Leitner system
• Highlight saved words on the current page
• Listen to pronunciation with text-to-speech
• Track progress with statistics
• Use the extension in English, Russian, German, French, or Spanish
• Keep everything private - no accounts, no tracking, local storage only

It supports English, German, French, Spanish, and Russian, with automatic language detection.

Worta is free and open-source. I’d be very grateful for feedback from language learners, students, teachers, and anyone who reads in multiple languages.

What would make a tool like this more useful for your own learning workflow?
