I spent 6 hours copying data from Excel to PDF manually. So I built an AI to do it for me.
Hey Product Hunt 👋
I wanted to share a bit of what we’ve been working on and get some early thoughts from this community.
I’m one of the makers behind SnapFill. The problem that pushed us to build it is pretty simple but incredibly painful:
The "Copy-Paste" Nightmare.
Last year, while applying for a government grant for my company, I had to transfer numbers from my financial model into a rigid PDF form. I tried using GPT, but the results were messy—the numbers were right, but the table borders were destroyed, the fonts were wrong, and the document was unusable.
It turns out most AI tools are great at generating text, but terrible at respecting layout.
What we’re exploring with SnapFill:
Perfect Formatting: An engine that fills forms while keeping the original layout 100% intact (tables, fonts, checkboxes).
Knowledge Hub: Instead of uploading context every time, you build a "brain" from your past docs (pitch decks, resumes, spreadsheets).
Pinpoint Accuracy: It traces every answer back to the source file, so you can trust the output.
We are still refining the experience, but the goal is to make "manual data entry" a thing of the past.
I’d love your feedback:
What is the most annoying form you have to fill out regularly? (Taxes? Vendor security questionnaires? Grant applications?)
Have you tried automating this before? What failed?
